The EPR enters the next round
The European Peace Ride stands for sport, history, and European friendship – a collective ride for peace, not a race.
The 2026 route starts in Zittau, leads through Mladá Boleslav and Dresden, and finishes in Chemnitz. Covering around 550 kilometers, the 200 participants ride through Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic. Along the way, they conquer 6,000 meters of elevation gain at an average speed of 28 km/h. In addition to challenging climbs, the route features diverse landscapes and historic sites, such as the legendary Steile Wand of Meerane.

The Route
Start
Zittau
The European Peace Ride will begin in Zittau in 2026, at the tri-border region of Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic. The historic old town features an impressive town hall and is shaped by a tradition of cloth-making, brewing, and a vibrant café scene around the marketplace.
Etappenziel 1
Mladá Boleslav
The first stage leads to Mladá Boleslav, the heart of the Czech automotive industry. A charming historic center with a Renaissance town hall, a Gothic church, and the “leaning tower” of Michalovice Castle shapes the cityscape, blending culture and modernity.
ETAPPENZIEL2
Dresden
The journey continues to Dresden, the capital of Saxony, also known as the “Florence on the Elbe.” Dresden is a symbol of destruction and reconstruction: Today, the Frauenkirche stands as an international symbol of peace. Art, history, and a vibrant creative scene come together here.
Highlight
Steile Wand von Meerane
With the Steile Wand von Meerane, the Peace Riders face a legendary section of the International Peace Race and a true test just before the finish. Over just 248 meters, the road climbs steeply with an average gradient of 12 percent. The cobblestones turn this already demanding ascent into a real challenge.
Ziel
Chemnitz
The grand finale of the Peace Ride will once again take place in Chemnitz in 2026, the European Capital of Culture 2025, which will continue to impress with creativity and industrial heritage in the following year. The city remains a place of transformation, innovation, and connection—a perfect conclusion for the EPR.
